Pony rides at the Kinderhotel Waldhof

Our lovable ponys Eidfaxy and Beni simply can't wait for you to visit them during your holiday at the Waldhof in Grossarl, where they can show you around the beautiful surroundings.

They live like we do at the Waldhof in Grossarl. The Icelandic ponys, just as the name suggests, originates from Iceland. The weather conditions in the north of the island are usually very stormy, which is why they have a thick coat to protect them against the wind and weather. Even the cold wind during the winter months in Grossarl cannot do them any harm.

If you want to go riding on your holiday, then the Waldhof is a paradise both in summer and in winter.

We offer pony rides with Eidfaxy and Beni together with the Waldhof childminders 3 times a week during the summer, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, within the framework of our child care programme.
The little cowboys and cowgirls have the opportunity to enjoy a few rounds of riding in the covered riding arena twice a week during winter.
Our covered riding arena ensures that nothing stands in the way of riding bliss when the weather is bad.

During your holiday you have the opportunity to book a pony ride at the riding area for your children, a horse-drawn carriage ride in winter or even a walk or a leisurely hike with our two alpacas.

New addition to the waldhof

Our Alpacas

Timon, Pumbaa, Tom and Jerry, our cuddly alpacas are still very young. We are currently still training them to be able to join us at the Advent Market in winter. They join us on the hikes to the alpine pastures in summer. They live with our ponies and look forward to receiving visits from the children. They also love being petted (just not on the head) and so far they haven't spat at anyone.

There's plenty of animal fun in store for our younger guests at the Waldhof! Because there are lots of little furry noses around here just waiting for visitors.
