The alpine pastures are open in summer from the end of May until the beginning of November, depending on the weather conditions and altitude - and several snack stations are even open during winter and invite you to warm up again during a brief break.

In the surroundings

If you have already explored all the mountains in Grossarl, then there are numerous other peaks and alpine pastures in the surrounding area that are certainly worth climbing and discovering. Why not visit the Geisterberg (Ghost Mountain) in St. Johann-Alpendorf or Wagraini's Grafenberg (Earl's Mountain) in nearby Wagrain.

Salzburg Mountain World

The Grossarl mountain railway transports you high up into the Salzburg mountains every day in summer, except for Mondays. You will find yourself effortlessly at an altitude of around 1,800 metres after just a few minutes. You can then start your hikes leisurely from the mountain station in the "valley of the alpine pastures".
