Family holiday in Grossarl

The Grossarl Valley is easily accessible from all directions via the A10 Tauern motorway. If you want to travel by train or by plane, we can organise a taxi transfer to the hotel.

The valley is not a transit area, which benefits residents and guest alike. Enjoy the fresh, pure mountain air and the silence. Your car also gets a break during your holiday at Waldhof. It is best to explore the “Valley of alpine pastures” on foot, per bicycle or with the bus or valley taxi.

Starting May 1, 2025, a mobility fee of € 0.50 per day will apply. This allows you to use all public transport (train and bus) in Salzburg free of charge – including your arrival and departure!

May we introduce our home to you? We live with Wurzl in the municipality of Grossarl in Pongau which is part of the state of Salzburg. The city of Salzburg is only 70 km away.

The entire municipal area of Grossarl comprises about 130 km² and lies fog free at about 900 meters above sea level. It is covered predominantly with coniferous forest and surrounded by picturesque mountains.

The Grossarl Valley is also known as the “Valley of the alpine pastures”. Why? Because there are approximately 40 serviced alpine huts in Grossarland in Hüttschlag. All of them are accessible via marked hiking trails.

Traditional church festivals, the Salzburg Mountain Advent, brass music and the people who proudly wear their traditional costumes – all of this reflects our living traditions.
